The trustees would like to express their thanks to the following:Lucy Gent for reading the final draft and giving many valuable comments on style and presentation generally.
Inge Heinrich for using her experience in medical statistics to give advice especially on the presentation of the numerical data in sections 6, 7 and 8 above.
Susan Gwynne-Timothy for her extensive work on the database, helping with many tedious tasks involved in refining its construction, entering data and assisting with some of the analysis.
Adam Toth, a systems analyst, who has developed the design of the database so as to ensure a smoother flow of information to and from it, and to simplify and accelerate data analysis procedures. Such design work has meant delays at this stage, but its value in ensuring the smoother running of the project in future will be immeasurable.
The many fund-raisers, a large number of whom are participants, who have made it possible for the project to go forward. This has included taking our preliminary findings to the First International Congress on CFS and Related Disorders in Brussels in Novermber 1995.
